Introductory statement
Caleb Chng Du Xin was a student of Chung Cheng High School (Main) from 2008 to 2011.

Intellectual Independence and Passion For Learning
Caleb is a high achiever who has the potential to excel in all that he undertakes. He is effectively bilingual in both English and Chinese. As a participant in the 2009 Anglican- Chung Cheng High Debate Festival, Caleb was able to put his proficiency in the English language to good use as he presented his views in a comprehensible and persuasive manner.
Caleb possesses a passionate interest in both Mathematics and the Sciences, which enabled him to obtain a merit in the New South Wales Mathematics Competition. He also scored several distinctions in both subjects throughout the four years of education in Chung Cheng High School (Main).
He has a positive attitude towards studies, and could be counted upon to initiate and facilitate discussions during group work and collaborative projects.

Interpersonal Skills
Caleb was able to balance studies with his involvement in Co-Curricular
Activities (CCA). He was selected to represent the school as a member of the English Drama Society in many performances. He participated in the Inter-school Story Challenge Competition in 2011 and demonstrated
much enthusiasm and self-confidence in his role.
Being conscious of the need to contribute to the community and society, Caleb actively volunteered for Community Involvement Projects (CIP) such as visits to Old Folks’ Home and beach-cleaning. He also helped in the sales of coupons for the school’s Bazaar by the Lake in 2008 and 2010, and the walkathon fund-raising in 2009 and 2011. These experiences helped develop his civic-consciousness.

Personal Attributes
Dubbed a friendly and sociable person by his friends, Caleb is approachable and can be counted upon to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it. With his optimism and cheerful disposition, he does not allow himself nor his friends to be discouraged by setbacks. Responsible, diligent and caring, Caleb ensures that he does his best in all the tasks entrusted to him.

 

Ho Chuan Nicholas was a student of Chung Cheng High School (Main) from 2008 to 2011.

Intellectual Independence and Passion For Learning
Nicholas is effectively bilingual in both English and Chinese, and scored a distinction for Chinese Language in the GCE O-Level Examination. As a participant in the 2009 Anglican-Chung Cheng Debate Festival, Nicholas showed that he was able to put across his views and opinions in a lucid manner.
Nicholas shows keen interest in Mathematics and the Sciences, which helped him to obtain a Merit in the New South Wales Mathematics and Science Competitions. He consistently performed well in both subjects in his four years in Chung Cheng High School (Main). He has a positive attitude towards studies. He is a motivated and conscientious student who is punctual in the submission of his assignments and takes pride in producing high quality work at all times.

Interpersonal Skills
As can be seen from his achievements in Co-Curricular Activities, Nicholas was able to balance studies with his active involvement in the Basketball Team. His contributions to the Basketball Team include
representing the school at interschool competitions. He is able to communicate well with his juniors and provide them with assistance during trainings.
In addition, being conscious of the need to contribute to the community and society, Nicholas actively participated in the school’s Community Involvement Programme (CIP), taking part in the Thong Chai
Medical Association Flag Day in 2011, visiting the Geylang East Home in 2008, collection of newspapers and recyclables in 2009, and Beach Cleaning in 2008. He also helped in the sales of coupons for the school’s Bazaar by the Lake in 2008 and 2010. These experiences helped to develop his civic-consciousness and willingness to contribute substantially to the community. 

Personal Attributes
A patient and helpful person, Nicholas is reliable and responsible in attending to the tasks assigned to him. His keen learning attitude and pleasant personality are assets which will stand him in good stead for the future and help him achieve all that he sets out to do. He has the maturity to know what to do in different situations and is decisive.

 

Lee Jun Ying Kenneth was a student of Chung Cheng High School (Main) from 2008 to 2011.

Intellectual Independence and Passion For Learning
Kenneth has a positive attitude towards studies and is determined to perform well. His written assignments reflected his hardworking attitude, painstaking efforts and promptness. Besides taking pride in producing high quality work, he thrives on challenges and shows a single-minded drive to achieve his goals.

Interpersonal Skills
As the Vice-Chairman of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Kenneth helped the unit to achieve the Gold award in the Best Unit Competition. He was also a key player in the NCC street soccer team which later achieved fourth in the East Zone NCC Street Soccer Competition. Other than being an active soccer player, he also attained the marksmanship batch in the Individual Marksmanship Training (IMT) and Part C live firing.
Kenneth projects self-confidence, authority and enthusiasm in his work. He takes great interest in all that he undertakes and is able to work well in teams to achieve targets. He is committed and is willing to go beyond the normal call of duty. He also displayed courage when making difficult and unpopular discussions.
Being conscious of the need to contribute to the community and society, Kenneth actively volunteered in Community Involvement Programme (CIP) such as fund-raising through Flag Days for the Thong Chai Medical Institution in 2011, visits to the old folks’ home in 2010 and the sales of coupons for the school’s Bazaar By The Lake in 2008 and 2010. As a student leader, Kenneth actively participated in organizing school events such as Teachers’ Day 2010. His active participation in CIP shows that he is someone who cares for the less fortunate and enjoys lending a helping hand to those who need it.

Personal Attributes
Kenneth is helpful, respectful and friendly to his teachers and peers. He has the ability to remain calm during emergencies and times of crisis. He values teamwork, and encourages cooperation and collaboration. He has the ability to draw strong commitment and build trust among team members. Kenneth is also able to put forth his views cogently. He weighs his words carefully before speaking. With his cheerful disposition and optimism, he does not allow himself to be discouraged by setbacks. Instead he will do his best to surmount difficulties and obstacles.

 

Leong Jun Zhang was a student of Chung Cheng High School (Main) from 2008 to 2011.

Intellectual Independence and Passion for Learning
Jun Zhang holds a positive attitude towards learning. He often approached teachers after lessons to clarify his doubts. He learns quickly and never hesitates to help his friends in their studies.
Jun Zhang has a flair for Mathematics as can be seen from his Distinction in the New South Wales Mathematics Competition. He is hardworking and never fails to hand in his assignments on time. He takes pride in learning and often takes initiative to learn more, seeing problems as challenges and opportunities for growth.

Interpersonal Skills
Jun Zhang was the Class Chairman in Secondary 3 and was in charge of the class’s Service Learning project in which the class went to an elderly care centre to put up a Christmas party for the elderly. He put in extra effort to liaise with the centre and worked tirelessly to ensure the whole project ran smoothly.
Jun Zhang balanced studies and his Co-Curricular Activities well. He worked with his team in Chinese Drama Club to attain a Gold Award at the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Central Judging 2011.

Personal Attributes
Jun Zhang is a diligent and consistent worker who is keen on self-improvement. He exudes self-confidence, authority and determination. He has a strong desire to succeed and never lets down those who believe in him. As a friendly and sociable person, Jun Zhang values team work, and encourages cooperation and collaboration. His friends never think twice about approaching him for help, for he is always ready to lend a helping hand.

 

Personal qualities
Leow Jia Jie was a student of Chung Cheng High School (Main) from 2008 to 2011.

Intellectual independence and passion for learning
Jia Jie makes the effort to balance between his school activities and studies. He strives to submit his homework on time and is not afraid to consult teachers and his peers to clarify doubts in his work.

Interpersonal skills
Jia Jie was a Sectional Leader in his CCA, Chinese Orchestra, and led the CCA to achieve two consecutive gold-with-honours awards in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Central Judging. He was able to maintain good relationships with his CCA mates while leading them, and was able to communicate and convey his messages to his fellow members effectively.
In addition, Jia Jie participated actively in the school’s Community Involvement Programme (CIP). He was involved in the school’s Bazaar-by-the-lake when he was in Secondary One and Secondary Three, gaining many management skills from this experience. He also participated in a flag day activity that required him to learn to approach members of the public for charity donations.

Personal attributes
Jia Jie is respectful, caring and friendly to his teachers and peers. He has the ability to work well under pressure and can keep calm when an unexpected situation arises. He values friendships, and tries his best to maintain his relationships with his classmates, CCA mates and schoolmates. He is not afraid of critisism, and constantly strives to improve in areas he is weak in.
