Puah Xin Yi was a student of Chung Cheng High School (Main) from 2008 to 2011.

Intellectual Independence and Passion for Learning
Xin Yi is effectively bilingual in both English and Chinese. Her proficiency in the Chinese Language is evident from the distinction that she scored in the 2010 GCE O-Level Chinese Examination. Xin Yi possesses a flair for writing and represented the school in the Commonwealth Essay Competition in 2011. She thinks critically on issues and demonstrated this ability in her participation of the 2009 Anglican – Chung Cheng High Debate Festival, in which she also showed her ability to work in a team and to brainstorm for ideas.
Xin Yi has a keen interest in Mathematics and Sciences. She took part in the New South Wales Mathematics Competitions as well as the Singapore Junior Chemistry Olympiad 2011. Having a thirst for knowledge, she stayed for extra lessons during her trainings for the Singapore Junior Chemistry Olympiad 2011.  This enabled her to attain a silver medal in the competition. This shows her passion for learning and the consistent effort she puts in for her studies.
Xin Yi is a highly motivated student who shows a single-minded drive to achieve her goals, evident from her attentiveness in class. Xin Yi is punctual in the submission of her assignments and takes pride in producing high quality work at all times. This shows the discipline she has and her positive attitude towards studying. She takes responsibility for her own learning and displays an enquiring mind as she takes the initiative to seek out her teachers for consultations.

Interpersonal Skills
An active member of the Chinese Calligraphy Club, Xin Yi participated in numerous competitions such as the NUS-YMCA 3rd National Youth Calligraphy Competition and the Yew Tee Community Centre Calligraphy Competition. Being talented in Calligraphy, she clinched a Silver award in the World Chinese Calligraphy and Cultural Arts Exhibition.
Despite her achievements, she remains humble and works closely with her teachers and peers in the Chinese Calligraphy Club. She offers guidance to her juniors and peers, showing her willingness to help others achieve their full potential. Her commitment to her Co-Curricular Activity is also evident from her seeking her teachers for extra lessons whenever a competition draws near. Showing her appreciation for the Arts, Xin Yi helped the Chinese Calligraphy Club organise their annual Calligraphy exhibition at MICA in 2009 and 2010. Together with the rest of the Chinese Calligraphy Club members and teachers, she ensured that the exhibition was a success.
Being conscious of the need to contribute to the community and society, Xin Yi actively volunteered for Community Involvement Programme such as visiting the elderly at Geylang East Home in 2008. She also participated in her class’s Service Learning Project, teaching basic Information Technology Literacy to the elderly in 2008 and bringing old folks to Old Ford Factory in 2010. In addition, she participated in Race Against Cancer 2009, sales of coupons for the school’s Bazaar by the Lake 2008 and 2010 and fund-raising through flag day for Thong Chai Medical Institution in 2010. Even though she is a student, Xin Yi looks for opportunities to give back to the community and is aware of her responsibility to the society. Through such experiences, she was not only able to develop her civic-consciousness but she also proved that contributing to the community can be genuinely rewarding.

Personal Attributes
Xin Yi is respectful and polite to her teachers and peers. She is a diligent and consistent worker, and her written assignments reflect her hardworking attitude, painstaking efforts and promptness. Being helpful, she does not hesitate to assist her peers when they are in need. In the face of emergencies, Xin Yi is able to remain calm and assess the situation. She does not allow herself to be discouraged by setbacks. Instead, she will do her best to surmount difficulties and obstacles. Xin Yi readily accepts feedback on weaknesses and works towards improvement. She has the maturity to know what to do in different situations.

Yip Boee was a student of Chung Cheng High School (Main) from 2008 to 2011.

Intellectual Independence and Passion for Learning
Boee is a high achiever who has the potential to excel in all that she undertakes. She is effectively bilingual in both English and Chinese, and consistently scored distinctions in the Higher Chinese Language in the four years of education in Chung Cheng High School (Main). Her language proficiency is also demonstrated in the distinction she obtained for the 2010 GCE O-Level Chinese Examination. She was also awarded an A grade in the intermediate level of the internationally recognised Chinese Language Proficiency Test – Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi. As a participant in the 2010 Anglican-Chung Cheng Interschool Debate Festival, Boee put her proficiency in the English language to good use and was able to give constructive ideas to her teammates. Boee has a keen interest in Sciences, which is reflected by her good results in class tests and school examinations.
Having a positive attitude towards studies, Boee ensured that her work was of high standard and handed in promptly, a testimony of her self-discipline and motivation to achieve targets set.

Interpersonal Skills
As can be seen from her achievements in Co-Curricular Activities, Boee was able to balance studies with her active involvement in Chinese Orchestra, in which her leadership skills were clearly displayed. She was elected to be Section Group Leader in 2009 and Treasurer in 2010, in which she played an instrumental role in managing the finances to ensure the smooth running of the orchestra.
In 2009 and 2011, Boee participated in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Central Judging and the orchestra achieved the Gold (with honours) Award in both years. Boee is talented in Erhu. She achieved a Merit in the Central Conservatory of Music Chinese Instruments Grade Nine Examination. She participated actively in various school functions and public performances like the ‘Virtuoso of Harmony’ held at Singapore Conference Hall (SCH). She was also one of the few students selected to take part in the 2009 Ministry Of Education Music Talent Development Programme (Chinese Orchestra), which lasted for six months. The graduation ceremony was a public performance staged at SCH.
Being conscious of the need to contribute to the community and society, Boee always volunteered for Community Involvement Programmes (CIP) like fund-raising during the flag day for Thong Chai Medical Instituition in 2011, sales of coupons for the school’s Bazaar by the Lake 2008 and 2010, and beach-cleaning 2008. She even volunteered to perform the Erhu in the Geylang East Home Visit 2008. She is personally conscious of the need to contribute to the community. Her active participation in CIP shows that she is someone who cares for the less fortunate and enjoys lending a helping hand to those who need it.

Personal Attributes
A highly responsible and focused person, Boee is a good role model for her juniors. She carries out duties promptly and carefully and does not allow herself to be discouraged by setbacks. Composed and confident during performances, Boee displays great potential and talent in music. She is dependable and is an asset to any group that she belongs to.

 

Alden Ong Jing Kai was a student of Chung Cheng High School (Main) from 2008 to 2011.

Intellectual Independence and Passion for Learning
Alden carries a positive attitude towards learning. He clarifies any doubts he has with the teacher immediately and works hard to hand in assignments on time. He excels in his studies, especially in Mathematics. He was one of four students who took part in the 2009 Centre-of-Excellence East Zone Students’ Maths Games Design Competition, and his team achieved a third position among the 16 schools that participated in the competition.
Alden is effectively bilingual in Chinese and English. He was one of the speakers in the 2010 Anglican-Chung Cheng Interschool Debate Festival. He was also chosen to represent his class in reading a Chinese passage to the school during one of the assemblies in 2011.

Interpersonal Skills
Alden gives back to the society by being involved in the school’s Community Involvement Project. He participated in activities such as beach-cleaning in 2008, old folks’ home visits in 2008 and 2010, and Flag Day to raise funds for Thong Chai Medical Institution in 2011.

Personal Attributes
Alden is friendly and sociable, and is able to communicate well with his peers. He contributes in group discussion, and never gives up even when he faces uphill challenges. He always brings a positive attitude to the class and this attitude influences his peers positively. He is kind and is always willing to lend a helping hand to classmates in need.

Au Tze Fung was a student of Chung Cheng High School (Main) from 2008 to 2011.

Intellectual Independence and Passion for Learning
TzeFung is effectively bilingual in English and Chinese. Throughout the four years of education in the school, he achieved commendable results for both subjects. His proficiency in the Chinese language is evident when he obtained a distinction in the 2010 GCE O-Level Chinese Examination. He has the ability to analyse and evaluate information, and his contributions to class discussions were insightful and perceptive. He ensured that his work was of high quality and submitted promptly, a testimony of his self-discipline and motivation.
In addition, Tze Fung has a positive attitude towards studies. He strives hard to do consistently well in all his subjects. Being determined to perform well, Tze Fung readily accepts feedback on weaknesses and works towards improvement.

Interpersonal Skills
As can be seen from his achievements in Co-Curricular Activities (CCA), Tze Fung was able to balance studies with his active involvement in both Audio Visual Aids Club (AVA) and Student Council. As the Vice-Chairman of AVA club in 2010 and 2011, Tze Fung demonstrated strong leadership abilities and carried out his duty with evident enthusiasm. He ensured that ample opportunities were given to his juniors to develop their leadership skills.
As the Vice-President of Student Council, Tze Fung actively participated in organizing numerous school events, such as Teachers’ Day Celebration and Secondary One Orientation. In the planning and execution of the events, he was able to communicate well with his juniors and provided them with tutelage and assistance. He also played an active part in improving the school’s image and discipline, and received positive feedback for his role.
Being a patient and outgoing person, Tze Fung inspires energy and the spirit of cooperation in whoever he works with. He is able to draw strong commitment from team members and build trust among them.

Tze Fung is helpful, respectful and friendly to his teachers and peers. He has the ability to remain in control during emergencies and times of crisis. With his cheerful disposition and optimism, he does not allow himself to be discouraged by setbacks. Instead, he does his best to surmount difficulties and obstacles. He is also approachable, and can always be counted upon to lend a helping hand to his friends who face difficulties.

 

Brian Lee Zheng Jie was a student of Chung Cheng High School (Main) from 2008 to 2011.

Intellectual Independence and Passion for Learning
Brian is a diligent student who sets high and realistic goals for himself. His contributions to group discussions were often insightful and perceptive. Having the mindset that every difficulty is a challenge, he never backs down from setbacks, persevering to conquer them instead. He has a positive attitude towards studies, and strives hard to do well in all his subjects.

Interpersonal Skills
Besides academic pursuits, Brian was outstanding in his performance in the Co-Curricular Activities (CCA), National Police Cadets Corps (NPCC),where his leadership skills were clearly displayed. He was able to develop a good relationship with his peers and juniors due to his effective communication skills. He was a member of the Guard of Honor (GOH) contingent in the school’s 70th anniversary celebration. He also participated in Community Involvement Projects (CIP) such as the Flag Day for Tong Chai Medical Institution and the visit to the old folk’s home to help take care of the elderly.

Personal Attributes
Brian is helpful, respectful and friendly to his teachers and peers. He values teamwork, and encourages cooperation and collaboration. He is approachable and can be counted upon to lend a helping hand to those who are in need. He also has a positive attitude towards any situation, enabling him to not give up no matter how hopeless the situation is.
